Detectives of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) are engaged in the investigation of more than one hundred criminal proceedings, which concern corruption at state enterprises.

The majority of such crimes is associated with the theft of property and funds of state enterprises, the purchase of goods and services at inflated prices, the supply of products through intermediaries at prices that are significantly lower than market prices, the NABU's site said on Monday.

"Nearly 50 state enterprises, most of which are among the top 100 state companies under the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, are within the field of view of the NABU. According to preliminary estimates, the total losses caused to these enterprises as a result of criminal corruption offenses exceed UAH 20 billion," the Bureau said.

As of June 30 of the current year, detectives of NABU and prosecutors of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO) submitted 32 corruption cases to the court. The aggregated amount of the target of crime in these cases reaches UAH 2.4 billion.

Most often detectives record cases of corruption at enterprises of the fuel and energy, military and industrial, agrarian-industrial complexes and the transport industry.

The majority of corruption crimes at state and municipal property enterprises take place with the participation of the management staff, the NABU said.

Among more than 200 people that NABU suspects of corruption, one in six is the head of a state or municipal enterprise, the Bureau said.
