Gas agreement with Russia to be reached before end of March

A gas agreement with Russia will be reached before the end of March, Ukrainian Energy and Coal Industry Minister Volodymyr Demchyshyn predicted.

"There are no doubts that everything will be settled before the end of March," Demchyshyn told journalists after a Cabinet meeting on Wednesday.

The Ukrainian side needs to have an idea about how the heating season ends and the amount of gas in underground storage at the moment it does, he said.
