FFU bans Shakhtar player Taison for two matches for kicking Dynamo footballer Yarmolenko
Shakhtar Donetsk attacking midfielder Taison has been banned by the Control and Disciplinary Committee of the Football Federation of Ukraine (FFU) for two Premier League matches for kicking Dynamo player Andriy Yarmolenko during a game on August 4.
"FC Shakhtar footballer Taison has been banned for two matches for kicking an opponent in a struggle for the ball in a match of the fourth round of the championship between Shakhtar Donetsk and Dynamo Kyiv. According to the FFU Committee of Referees, the episode was not noticed by the match officials (this was confirmed by relevant reports). Therefore, the FFU Control and Disciplinary Committee used the provisions of Clause 4, Article 60 of the FFU Disciplinary Rules while making a decision on the case," the FFU's press service reported.
As reported, Yarmolenko was injured in a clash with the Brazilian in the 76th minute of the Ukrainian Classico, which was played on August 4.
On August 6, Taison apologized to Yarmolenko for causing injury to him during the match.
"I'm sorry. I did not have a malicious intent to hurt Yarmolenko. Sorry," Taison wrote on the Instagram social network.
Yarmolenko after the match said he was sure that Taison had injured him intentionally.
He also said that the opponent had not apologized to him.
"I saw only a smile on his face. Instead, the Brazilians patted each other on the head. Nobody came to me after the match, and nobody apologized," he said.
