Shakhtar footballer Taison apologizes to Dynamo player Yarmolenko for causing injury to him
Brazilian footballer from Shakhtar Donetsk Taison has apologized to Dynamo Kyiv forward Andriy Yarmolenko for causing injury to him during the match of the fourth round of the Ukrainian Premier League between the two teams on August 4.
"Shakhtar midfielder Taison apologized to Andriy Yarmolenko on his Instagram page. The Dynamo player was injured in a clash with the Brazilian in the 76th minute of the Ukrainian Classico," reads a statement posted on Shakhtar's official Web site on Tuesday.
"I'm sorry. I did not have a malicious intent to hurt Yarmolenko. Sorry," Taison wrote on the social network.
Yarmolenko after the match said he was sure that Taison had injured him intentionally.
He also said that the opponent had not apologized to him.
"I saw only a smile on his face. Instead, the Brazilians patted each other on the head. Nobody came to me after the match, and nobody apologized," he said.
