Former Ukrainian Interior Minister Anatoliy Mohyliov, who also served as head of the Council of Ministers of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea from November 8, 2011 to February 27, 2014, has said that former President Viktor Yanukovych spoke about a threat to his life at a meeting with him in Kyiv on February 21, 2014.

"I last saw Yanukovych on February 21. On February 20, he phoned and invited me to visit Kyiv. We did not meet on February 20. This occurred at about 11.00-12.00 on February 21. It was a short conversation for a couple of minutes. Yanukovych said that his life was in danger, that there were many people in Kyiv who have weapons, so to say, illegal armed formations, so he needed to leave Kyiv," he said while giving evidence on the Yanukovych treason case in the Obolonsky District Court of Kyiv on Wednesday, January 24.

Mohyliov noted that he saw several diplomats of foreign countries in the reception room of the head of the presidential administration in the afternoon on February 21.
