I am counting on responsible decision of American people – Poroshenko

Ukraine's President Petro Poroshenko does not doubt that U.S. voters will make the responsible decision in the U.S. presidential election.

"I am counting on the responsible decision of the American people, who have many times already demonstrated their [ability to responsibly elect their leaders]. I have no doubt they will do so again," Poroshenko told journalists after talks with Slovenia's President Borut Pahor in Slovenia's capital Ljubljana on Tuesday, responding to a question from the Interfax-Ukraine news agency.

Poroshenko said Ukraine is satisfied with support from both sides of the American political spectrum concerning the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine.

"I am counting on activating our contacts with our American partners in the sphere of transatlantic cooperation and in the sphere of bilateral cooperation. In particular, I would like to note the necessity of reviving activities of the commission of strategic partnership," Ukraine's head of state said, noting the agreement signed by the foreign ministers of both countries.

In the words of Poroshenko, on Wednesday night the residents of many countries will be very interested in the result of the U.S. presidential elections.
