State Communications Service: Over 2,000 network attacks made on presidential and CEC's Web sites on polling day
A total of 2,300 network attacks were made on the Web sites of the Ukrainian president and the Central Election Commission (CEC) on Election Day on October 28, and they were all successfully repelled, reads a statement posted on the Web site of the State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection of Ukraine.
The report says that a DDoS attack on the Web sites of the Ukrainian president and the CEC began at 1604 on Sunday, and the highest power of the attack was 62 Mb/s. The attack was made from Ukraine (64%) and the Asia-Pacific region (31%).
"In addition, more than 2,300 network attacks were reported on October 28, and their successful implementation could lead to a breach of the integrity and reliability of the information posted on the Web sites of the president and the CEC," reads the statement.
"The specialists of the State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection successfully located and blocked the threats," reads the statement.
