Ukraine boosts gas production by 1.6% in eight months

Natural gas production in Ukraine January through August 2016 grew by 1.6%, or 211.4 million cubic meters (mcm) year-over-year, to 13.379 billion cubic meters (bcm).

Gas production in August 2016 alone was 1.684 bcm, which was 0.1% up year-over-year (1.682 bcm), PJSC Ukrtransgaz reported.

In particular, PJSC Ukrgazvydobuvannia produced 1.212 bcm of gas, PJSC Ukrnafta's output was 107.8 mcm, and other companies produced 364 mcm in August 2016.

As was reported, Ukraine in 2015 reduced gas output by 1.4%, or 274 mcm from 2014, to 19.896 bcm. The enterprises incorporated into NJSC Naftogaz Ukrainy saw a 4.9% decline in production by 823 mcm, to 16.032 bcm, while other companies boosted output by 16.6%, or 549 mcm, to 3.864 bcm.
