Naftogaz sees net loss fall by 19.6% in Q1, 2015, to UAH 21.9 bln

Naftogaz Ukrainy in January-March 2015 saw net loss fall by 19.6% compared to the same period in 2014, to UAH 21.901 billion.

According to a company press release, the loss of the gas monopoly from foreign currency exchange difference amounted to UAH 18.7 billion, from unauthorized gas taking in the ATO zone – UAH 1.4 billion, gas sales to the population – UAH 10.5 billion, while from other activities Naftogaz posted UAH 10.9 billion of profit.

In addition, the company incurred other expenses in the amount of UAH 2.2 billion (financial costs, administrative expenses, charges, provisions for lawsuits, etc.).

Naftogaz's net income in the first quarter increased by 46.7%, to UAH 34.445 billion. Gross profit was UAH 427.07 million against UAH 5.754 billion of gross loss for January-March 2014.

The independent audit of the financial statements of Naftogaz Ukrainy as a separate legal entity for the first quarter of 2015, prepared in accordance with international financial reporting standards, will be completed by Deloitte&Touche in June 2015.
