State Fiscal Service: UAH 300 mln required to install checkpoints on administrative border with Crimea
The installation and equipping of three checkpoints on the administrative border between the continental part of Ukraine and the free economic zone of Crimea will require UAH 300 million from the national budget, the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine has said.
Deputy Head of the State Fiscal Service Anatoliy Makarenko told Interfax-Ukraine that this concerns the Stavky, Chonhar and Pischane checkpoints.
"The initiatives were heard, but senior managers at the Finance Ministry were reshuffled, and now we're bringing the new initiative to the new managers. We assessed the cost of the initiative at UAH 300 million," he said.
Makarenko could not say how long it will take to realize the initiative, pointing out the difficulty of holding tenders, as well as the trend among the local populace to inflate the price for land plots where checkpoints could be built.
