Stavytsky: Issue of rise in gas prices for Ukrainians was not raised at talks with IMF
Ukrainian Energy and Coal Industry Minister Eduard Stavytsky has welcomed the outcome of negotiations with a mission from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in the context of energy issues.
"I'm positive about the results. We provided a 15-point program to effectively optimize and reduce the expenditures of Naftogaz Ukrainy in terms of gas for households, the fuel and energy complex, and municipal heat and power engineering," he told journalists in Kyiv on Wednesday.
When asked how the IMF assessed this program, Stavytsky said: "With enthusiasm."
He also said that the question of a rise in gas prices for households and for the industry had not been discussed during the talks.
"What price of gas for the public? What are you talking about? We will work only for a reduction," Stavytsky said.
