Klitschko-Povetkin fight scheduled for October 5 in Moscow

WBA/IBF/WBO/IBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko will defend his title against Alexander Povetkin at Olympic Stadium in Moscow on October 5.

Contracts for the fight were signed and agreed with the World Boxing Association (WBA), Moscow Mortgage Center Group of Companies and Rosneft, the organizers of the event, said in a press release.

The talks between Klitschko and Povetkin lasted for two months. The purse bid to stage the fight is $23 million.

Povetkin currently holds the World Boxing Association's "regular" Heavyweight Championship title.
