FC Kryvbas on verge of disbanding

2 min read

FC Kryvbas Kryvy Rih has said that it is on the verge of disbanding.

"The withdrawal of the certificate for the next season and reports of the complete cessation of funding for the club not only call into question the repayment of wage arrears to the club's players and employees (for five months), but generally critically bring Kryvbas closer to the possibility of losing its status as a 'team of masters,'" reads a statement posted on the club's official Web site.

On May 31, the club held a working meeting to report on the complete cessation of its funding by the current owners.

As reported, on May 31, the committee on the certification of football clubs at the Football Federation of Ukraine (FFU) decided to revoke FC Kryvbas's certificate, which it needs to participate in the nationwide football competitions among the clubs of the Ukrainian Premier League in the 2013/2014 season, due to the clubs non-compliance with the requirements of financial criteria. The club has five days to appeal the decision.

As reported, Kryvbas did not play its match of the last, 30th round of the Ukrainian Premier League of the 2012/2013 season against Volyn Lutsk, which was to be held on May 26. The team was given a technical 3-0 defeat.

Earlier, Kryvbas President Oleksandr Livshyts confirmed that the club was facing financial problems. According to media reports, businessman Ihor Kolomoisky is one of the club's main sponsors.

Kryvbas took seventh place in the Ukrainian Premier League last season.
