Kurchenko wants to strengthen Metalist
FC Metalist Kharkiv President Serhiy Kurchenko has said he plans to strengthen the team in the summer season.
"Of course, we're planning to strengthen the team in the near future. We're studying this issue now, and everything will be clear in a month or two. The scope of our interests also includes Ukrainian players, but who exactly is still a secret," he said in an interview with the club's press service after the match against Dynamo Kyiv on May 4.
Kurchenko said that Metalist is set to winning the silver medals of the Ukrainian Premier League.
"We said earlier that bronze medals wouldn't suit us and that we'll fight for silver. Today's game showed that it's realistic. We'll continue to work and move to new victories," he said.
As reported, Metalist beat Dynamo 2-0 in Kharkiv on May 4 in the match of the 27th round of the Ukrainian Premier League. Metalist is now in second place in the table with 59 points, with three more games remaining. Dynamo has 56 points. Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk is fourth, with 50 points.
