Poroshenko to Ukrainians on other side of contact line: Believe, we will return occupied lands of Ukraine

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko is confident that the land of Ukraine occupied by the Russian Federation would be returned to Ukraine.

"We will return the occupied lands of Ukraine... I would like to take this opportunity to turn from Avdiyivka to Ukrainians who are now under Russian occupation in the occupied territory of Donbas: Be sure, Ukrainian flag, Ukrainian emblem, authorities of the Ukrainian state will definitely be back. They will return to every piece of Ukrainian land," Poroshenko said during the working visit to Avdiyivka, Donetsk region on Sunday.

He said that changes step by step are being made in Donbas and these changes should be seen in the occupied territories.

"Let's look at the by-product coke plant of Avdiyivka, which finally reached the pre-war workload," the president said, reminding that in January 2017 they were thinking how to save this enterprise.

"What do we see now? The by-product coke plant of Avdiyivka hires new people: engineers and technicians, workers. Jobs are created at the Ukrainian production facilities," Poroshenko said.

"Look what is happening on the other side of the contract line: total unemployment; average salary of a miner is 12,000 [Russian] rubles – it is about UAH 5,000; mines are closed; zero security level… The standard of living clearly shows the responsibility of those who bought into the cheap promises of Russian invaders," the head of state said.
