Increasing compatibility with NATO member countries extremely important to Ukraine

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has stressed the paramount importance of the participation of servicemen of the country's Armed Forces in NATO exercises in order to increase readiness and compatibility with the member countries of the alliance and partners.

"The Ukrainian military participates in NATO's Noble Partner 2018 exercise, which began today in Georgia. Both Ukraine and Georgia fully felt the military aggression of the Russian Federation, so increasing readiness and compatibility with NATO member countries and partners is extremely important to our Armed Forces," Poroshenko wrote on his Facebook page on Wednesday, August 1.

The head of state also noted that the Noble Partner 2018 exercises, as well as See Breeze 2018, which recently took place in Ukraine, make an important contribution to maintaining a stable and safe environment in the Black Sea region.

Large-scale multinational military exercises of NATO countries and partners, Noble Partner 2018, started in Georgia on August 1. About 3,000 servicemen from 13 countries will participate in the drills that will last until August 15. In particular, they include Georgia, the United States, Britain, Germany, Estonia, France, Lithuania, Poland, Norway, Turkey, Ukraine, Azerbaijan and Armenia.
