Russia's Achilles' heel is its aggression against Ukraine – Poroshenko

1 min read

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has said he is convinced that Russia's Achilles' heel is its aggression against Ukraine.

"I am convinced that Russia's Achilles' heel is, in fact, its aggression against Ukraine. The path toward victory in this war against the Moscow aggressor lies through our victory in Ukraine," Poroshenko said at the 11th Security Forum in Kyiv on Thursday.

The Ukrainian president described Russia's "networks of influence" as a "house of cards, which will rapidly collapse if it is met with a coordinated and powerful response."

"I want to tell you that there is no frozen conflict in eastern Ukraine. Rather, what we have is the military aggression of the Russian Federation against the sovereign, free, and independent state of Ukraine. Ukraine is defending not only its territorial integrity and sovereignty, but also the freedom and democracy of the whole of Europe and the entire world," Poroshenko said at the 11th Security Forum in Kyiv on Thursday.
