Poroshenko accepts credentials from ambassadors of Indonesia, Vietnam, Australia and Spain

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has accepted credentials from the ambassadors of the Republic of Indonesia, the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Australia the Kingdom of Spain.

"President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko accepted credentials from the ambassadors of several foreign countries: the Republic of Indonesia - Mr. Yuddy Chrisnandi, the Socialist Republic of Vietnam - Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, Australia - Mrs. Melissa O'Rourke and the Kingdom of Spain - Mrs. Silvia Cortes Martin," the press service of the presidential administration reported on Tuesday.

Poroshenko noted the prospects of developing partnership with Indonesia along with the issue of preparation for the next meeting of the Intergovernmental Ukrainian-Indonesian Commission on Economic and Technical Cooperation, which will take place in Kyiv in 2018.

During the conversation with Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam the Ukrainian president paid attention to the development of trade and economic cooperation. The prospects of Ukrainian president's visit to Vietnam in 2018 were also discussed.

During the conversation with Ambassador of Australia, Poroshenko expressed gratitude for supporting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, the unchanging position regarding the necessity of applying sanctions against the Russian Federation until the Russian Federation cease its aggression against Ukraine. The Australian side confirmed the continuation of the prosthetics project in Ukraine. The parties discussed preparations for the participation of the Ukrainian team of heroic warriors in the next Invictus Games in Sydney.

They also discussed the continuation of cooperation within the Joint Investigation Group on the MH-17 tragedy.

During the conversation with Ambassador of Spain the parties confirmed mutual unwavering support of territorial integrity of Ukraine and Spain, particularly in the context of the recent developments in Catalonia. Poroshenko expressed hope that Spain will support the prolongation of sanctions against Russia because of its aggression against Ukraine. Also, the deepening of cooperation in the trade, economic and investment spheres of the countries was discussed.

"The president of Ukraine expressed conviction that in the near future a positive decision on the Agreement on a Common Aviation Area between Ukraine and the EU would be found, which would ensure its signing," the message reads.

Poroshenko thanked Spain and Australia for co-authorship in the renewed draft resolution "Situation of human rights in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol (Ukraine)" submitted by Ukraine for consideration by the 72 UN General Assembly. He also expressed hope for the support of the Republic of Indonesia and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam for the efforts of the international community aimed to protect the rights and freedoms of the Crimean people.
