Poroshenko expects half of Ukraine's trade to be with EU countries

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko predicts half of Ukraine's trade will be with the European Union countries.

"Over ten months of this year, our Ukrainian exports to the EU increased by 30%, compared to the previous year, 2016. The EU share in Ukraine's foreign trade has reached almost 43% and is rapidly approaching 50%. Half of Ukraine's trade will be with the European Union," Poroshenko said in Dnipro on Monday.

He recalled that on November 24, the Eastern Partnership summit will be held, where the enhanced partnership with the EU will be considered for the countries that have succeeded in implementing the plan of association with the EU.

"I will soon leave for the Eastern Partnership summit. I welcome the European Parliament's recommendations on the formation of an Eastern Partnership Plus model for Ukraine, Moldova and Georgia," the president said.
