Poroshenko expects government programs on implementing law on rural medicine
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has said he expects the Cabinet of Ministers to adopt programs on implementing the provisions of the law on rural medicine.
"I ask the heads of regional state administrations, in cooperation with the Regional Development Ministry, to quickly determine the scheme and plans for locating rural outpatient clinics, taking into account the burden on doctors and accessibility for patients... I expect the government to adopt as soon as possible the programs that take into account all the nuances of rural medicine development on the basis of a new law," he said at a meeting of the Regional Development Council in Kyiv on Tuesday.
As reported, on October 19, the Verkhovna Rada passed at first reading a bill improving the accessibility and quality of healthcare services in rural areas submitted by the Ukrainian president.
Amendments in Ukraine's state budget for 2017 provide for UAH 4 billion for activities aimed at developing medicine in rural areas.
