Nobody bans anyone from learning minority language – Poroshenko

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has said that every child who graduated from a Ukrainian school should be fluent in the Ukrainian language, but it is not forbidden to study the languages of national minorities.

"We are returning Ukraine to the Ukrainian school. It's very simple. We do not ban anyone from learning the language of national minorities, but every child who graduates from a Ukrainian school should be fluent in Ukrainian. We must protect Ukraine," he said at a meeting with the leaders of the Ukrainian community and representatives of Crimean Tatar organizations in New York on September 18.
