Petro Poroshenko Bloc deputies in U.S. discussed sanctions against Russia with White House officials
A delegation of the Verkhovna Rada deputies from the Petro Poroshenko Bloc faction during their visit to the U.S. met with high-ranking White House officials, U.S. diplomats, Congressmen and women, journalists and analysts and think tanks to discuss the situation in Ukraine.
The faction's press service on Monday said three main issues were discussed: keeping sanctions against Russia in order to deter the aggressor, compliance with the Minsk peace agreements and implementation of institutional reforms in Ukraine.
"Today the solution to the main group of questions is in Ukraine. I am sure that we must strengthen the support of our main partners and achieve concrete results by implementing reforms domestically," Serhiy Berezenko said.
A second deputy in the delegation, Pavlo Rizanenko, presented proposed economic reforms for Ukraine during the talks.
Deputies Berezenko, Rizanenko, Artur Gerasymov, Iryna Friz were members of the delegation, along with experts Heorhiy Vashadze and Serhiy Taran.
