Poroshenko hoping to revisit Association Agreement ratification issue with EU at Dec summit
President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko hopes ratification of the Agreement on Association with the European Union will be discussed at the EU summit in December.
"I hope that during the EU summit, we will revisit the ratification issue in order to finally make it [the agreement] work in full, as the free trade area agreement with the EU starts working from January 1," Poroshenko said at a joint press conference with President of the European Council Donald Tusk and European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker in Brussels on Thursday.
He also said EU and Ukrainian leaders during the talks on Thursday noted significant progress in the implementation of the Association Agreement before its full ratification, noting progress made during the talks provides for further implementation of the Association Agreement.
