Poroshenko may visit U.S. in February 2017
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko may visit the U.S. in February 2017, Ukrainian presidential administration deputy head Kostiantyn Yelisieyev said.
"We are expecting the Ukrainian president to visit the U.S. in February," he said on the 112.Ukraine TV channel.
He also said that Poroshenko preferred neither Hillary Clinton nor Donald Trump during the U.S. presidential election campaign. "The Ukrainian president always underscored in his speeches and remarks that we were counting on two-party support in the U.S., both on the part of the Democrats and on the part of the Republicans," Yelisieyev said.
Ukraine will build dialogue with the new U.S. administration, he said. "The first messages have been sent to Washington, for instance, the Ukrainian president has invited Trump to Ukraine," he said.
