Leaders of some parties want to give part of Ukraine to Russia or militants
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has said that leaders of some political forces set a goal of transferring a large part of the Ukrainian territory to Russia or militants.
"Leaders of some political parties set a goal of transferring a large part of the Ukrainian territory to Russia or separatists. I emphasize that as president I would not allow doing this. One should not go to foreign embassies and campaign that this is the transfer of Donbas to someone… You will give away the territory but would not have peace," he said in Chuhuyiv, Kharkiv region, on Saturday.
The head of state said that today Ukraine needs unity of society and the state in the issue of peaceful settlement of the situation in Donbas.
"Now more than ever we need unity of society and the state. An attempt to split this unity is an indicative element of hybrid war that Russia is making against the sovereign Ukrainian state," he said.
