Poroshenko creates commission for coordination of Ukraine's Euro-Atlantic Integration headed by Deputy PM Klympush-Tsintsadze
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has created a commission for Coordination of Ukraine's Euro-Atlantic Integration as a subsidiary body under the auspices of the head of state.
Decree No. 296/2016 on coordination of Euro-Atlantic integration was signed on July 8.
Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze heads the commission.
According to the decree, the commission is intended to provide for coordination of Ukraine's Euro-Atlantic integration, increase efficiency of the implementation of top-priority tasks on achieving goals required for membership in NATO, including under annual national programs on Ukraine-NATO cooperation.
The commission will monitor, analyze and assess the fulfillment of tasks in the area of Ukraine's Euro-Atlantic integration and submit proposals to the president on development of cooperation between Ukraine and NATO.
The decree took effect from the day of its publication.
The document annuls some decrees of former disgraced Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych.
