Poroshenko: My son not planning to be either premier, or president
KYIV. June 4 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has said that his son has no ambition to become the prime minister or the president.
"My son is not going to be either the prime minister or the president, and I'm not sure whether he will agree to run for an MP for the second time," Poroshenko said at a press conference in Kyiv on Friday.
The head of state noted that his son fairly won the parliamentary elections in a single-mandate constituency.
"Unlike some others, he won fairly and squarely in a single-seat constituency. Is this some kind of exception in the European or world politics? I will regret saying this, but so be it: I met with Canadian Prime Minister [Justin] Trudeau, he is the son of a prime minister of Canada, I met with Japanese Prime Minister [Shinzo] Abe, who is the son of a prime minister of Japan, and I could go on with this list," Poroshenko said.
