Rada committee asks NABU to investigate questionable Defense Ministry purchases
The parliamentary committee for national security and defense has handed materials confirming facts of abuse of office at the Defense Ministry during public procurement to the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU).
An Interfax-Ukraine correspondent has reported that the decision was made at a committee meeting on Wednesday.
Lawmakers presented facts of law violations in purchases of fuel, low-quality food and uniforms for Ukraine's Armed Forces.
"These deals are the level of deputy minister. This is in the NABU's competence [to investigate in the case]," Head of the committee, MP from People's Front Serhiy Pashynsky said.
He said that these are only few episodes, adding that total damage caused is estimated at UAH 1.5-2 billion.
