Parliament to revise national budget in Feb - MP
It is planned to revise the 2016 national budget in February, the press service of the Petro Poroshenko Bloc has reported, referring to the broadcast of News One TV.
"We will revise the budget. I'm not satisfied that the Finance Ministry of Ukraine halved the sum that was to go to the Border Service," the press service said, citing MP Andriy Antonyschak.
He also expressed alarm at the reduction of wages of military servicemen and expenses on armament.
"They [the government] again showed their failure when the committees finished the Tax Code instead of them. I want to ask the Border Service to be relieved: we will revise the budget in February. We will amend it. One month and we will see how it is fulfilled," Antonyschak said.
The lawmaker said that the new Tax Code has one advantage: the compromise between the committee for tax and customs policies and the Finance Ministry on the reduction of single social security tax.
"Two thirds of amendments we submitted were revised by the committee. At present, we will see how the Tax Code will work, as it has very disruptive things: single social security tax was almost halved and some taxes were cut. We set some benefits for businessmen. Additionally, MPs are working on the creation of the reformatory Tax Code which will be ultra-European and modern," he said.
He added that among key requirements of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) is the budget deficit of no more than UAH 3.7 billion and fight against corruption.
"Soon we will present a bill on the national customs service to the IMF. Today the main task of the customs service is not to collect taxes, but transparently move goods via the border and fight smuggling," he said.
