Germany welcomes Rada's approval of Constitutional amendments – Foreign Minister
Germany positively assesses the results of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine's vote in favor of the Constitutional reform, German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier said during his official visit to Cuba.
He welcomed Rada's vote for the constitutional amendments foreseeing special mechanisms of local self-administration in eastern Ukraine, reads the Minister's statement posted on the website of German Foreign Ministry on Thursday.
Steinmeier noted that in such a way Kyiv greatly contributed to the implementation of Minsk accords.
As reported, on Thursday the Verkhovna Rada voted for sending the amendments to te Constitutional Court with 288 votes.
However, the so-called Luhansk and Donetsk People's Republics say the bill contradicts the Minsk accords as it hasn't been coordinated with Donbas representatives.
