Poroshenko expects positive changes in Odesa region could be seen in a year
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has expressed hope that with the arrival of the new head of Odesa Regional Administration Mikheil Saakashvili the positive changes in the region would be seen in a year.
"When we unite everything will work out. We should mobilize and stay focused, receive support of the team, Odesa city and region residents to change everything. I would like to see better roads and it will be our top priority. I want that people in a year have a chance to say that they live better," he said, introducing the new head of Odesa Regional Administration Saakashvili in Odesa on Saturday.
The head of state said that the region faces the tasks of retaining peace, territorial integrity and sovereignty.
"However, not the least urgent challenge is fighting against corruption, injustice, the unreformed economy, fight for real de-centralization of power, building everything for which people took part in the Revolution of Dignity… Difficult tasks in hard times require strong and decisive actions," Poroshenko said.
