Wall on Russian border to be built exclusively by Ukrainian companies – border service

Only Ukrainian companies and manufacturers will be involved in building a wall on Ukrainian-Russian state border, the State Border Guard Service has reported.

"On Tuesday, Kharkiv Regional State Administration hosted an extended meeting with the participation of the representatives of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, the Administration of the State Border Guard Service, heads of regional administration and other officials. During the meeting, modern approaches for protecting and defending the state border were presented. Those present studied the plan of technical arrangements on the Ukrainian border and preliminary solutions on engineering works," spokesman Oleh Slobodian said at a briefing on Friday.

He said that based on the results of the meeting, officials were tasked to work on the legal and technical issues of the project.

Slobodian said that according to the cost sheet, UAH 10 million had already been transferred to the Border Guard Service to realize the project.

"It's worth saying that only Ukrainian companies and manufacturers will be involved in its realization," he added.
