Poroshenko promises to use special approach towards Crimea residents who became Russian citizens
The law on the economic zone in Crimea, according to which Crimean residents were recognized non-residents in Ukraine, has a number of serious mistakes, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has said.
"A number of mistakes were made when adopting the law on the economic zone in Crimea," he said at a press conference in Kyiv on Monday.
According to Poroshenko, the National Bank of Ukraine has already reported that some of those mistakes have already been corrected and that the people from Crimea have received 'resident' status.
The president also thinks people from Crimea, who work and live on mainland Ukraine, must have the full rights accorded to Ukrainian citizens.
"At the same time, those Crimean residents, who became Russian citizens, will be approached in a different way. That I promise to you," Poroshenko noted.
