Over 500,000 people have already left Crimea and Donbas, National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) information and analytical center spokesman Andriy Lysenko has said.

"According to the interagency coordination headquarters, 501,157 internally displaced persons from Donbas and Crimea have been accommodated in Ukraine's regions as of December 1, 2014," he said at a briefing on Tuesday.

Lysenko said that 969 people had been placed over the past 24 hours. Over 450,000 people were registered at the agencies on social protection of the population. Monthly targeted assistance to compensate for spending on accommodation was assigned to 129,777 families.

Some 50,331 families have already received this financial assistance, and payments continue, Lysenko said.
