Ukrzaliznytsia denies rise in prices of tickets to Crimea, disconnection of Crimea form Ukrainian ticket sale system

The State Railway Administration of Ukraine (Ukrzaliznytsia) has denied information spread in media reports that Crimea has been disconnected from the Ukrainian automated ticket sale system.

"Ukrzaliznytsia did not receive letters or telegrams from the Crimean directorate of railway shipments of a switch to the Russian Express-3 automated ticket sale system and to the international fare for trains running from the peninsular to the continental part of Ukraine. Thus, Crimea itself unilaterally switched to the Russian Express-3 automated ticket sale system," reads the report.

Now Ukrzaliznytsia is taking all measures to return the procedure for selling tickets at Crimean ticket offices for trains running in the continental part of Ukraine to the domestic fare. Ukrzaliznytsia will inform on the results of the work.

As reported, earlier a failure of the Express 3 automated ticket sale system was registered. Then passengers bought tickets at increased fares.

At preset, tickets from/to Crimea are sold at the domestic fare in the online ticket purchase and booking system of Ukrzaliznytsia.
