Opora network registers over 400 infringements since start of election campaign
As of 1250, 407 infringements were registered at the extraordinary presidential election in Ukraine being held on Sunday, the Opora civil network has reported.
The Interior Ministry told Interfax-Ukraine that this concerns infringements registered since the beginning of the election campaign, and not on the day of voting on May 25, 2014.
According to posting on the Web site of the organization, most of cases are the violation of the rules of the election campaigning (184 cases) and the creation of obstacles in holding the election campaign by candidates (123 cases). A total of 71 procedural infringements were registered.
The network reports that 16 voter bribery cases were registered, as well as 10 facts of participation and influence of officials on the course of the election campaign, eight cases of pressure on reporters and four cases of damaging ballot-boxes. There are cases of forgery of election documents, violation of secrecy of ballot (three each) and one case of manipulations with ballots.
