Ukrainian police detain Naftogaz CEO Bakulin, says Interior Minister

The Ukrainian police detained board chairman of the national gas company Naftogaz Ukrainy Yevhen Bakulin on Friday as part of an investigation into corruption in the gas industry, acting Interior Minister Arsen Avakov has written on his Facebook page.

"The actions of the criminal group cost the Ukrainian state around $4 billion on just three counts being probed by police investigators. And that is far from being a full list of dodgy schemes and operations that have come under the scrutiny of our investigators," the acting interior minister said.
