EU not recognizing results of referendum in Crimea - EU Delegation to Ukraine

The European Union is not recognizing the results of an all-Crimean referendum, which was held on the peninsula on Sunday, and has not sent its observers to the event, the EU Delegation to Ukraine has reported.

"The European Union is not going to recognize the result of the 'referendum.' This 'referendum' is unconstitutional. Therefore, there are no EU observers of this illegal act," reads a statement posted on the official Facebook page of the EU Delegation to Ukraine on Sunday.

"EU citizens, who are in Crimea these days and who might comment on the 'referendum,' do not represent the European Union," reads the statement.
