The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has not made any staff decisions for the State Railway Administration of Ukraine (Ukrzaliznytsia), Deputy Infrastructure Minister Dmytro Demydovych told reporters in Kyiv on Tuesday, March 11.

"As far as I know, there have been no staff decisions made for Ukrzaliznytsia. The candidates are selected by the Cabinet of Ministers, and I know nothing about this," he said.

As reported, Director General of State Railways Administration of Ukraine Ukrzaliznytsia Serhiy Bolobolin resigned on March 6, 2014, after talking with new Infrastructure Minister Maksym Burbak, who recommended making such a decision for reasons of political expediency.

The management of State Railways Administration of Ukraine Ukrzaliznytsia declared on the same day that they feel political pressure to remove them from the management of the railways.

Media reports said that Borys Ostapiuk who earlier was a deputy director general of Ukrzaliznytsia and head of Donetsk railways, could become head of Ukrzaliznytsia, as could Mykhailo Kostiuk, who headed Ukrzaliznytsia in 2008-2011.
