Kyiv waiting for Russian reply about consultations on Crimea
Ukraine is waiting for a reply from the Russian Foreign Ministry about consultations on the Crimean situation.
"We have not received a reply from the Russian side so far," Acting Foreign Minister Andriy Deschytsia told reporters on Friday.
Russian Charge d'Affaires in Ukraine Andrei Vorobyov was summoned to the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry on Thursday and presented with notes related to the latest events in Ukraine and movements of Black Sea Fleet units outside of their bases. It was emphasized that Russia, defined by the Budapest Memorandum of December 5, 1994, as a guarantor country, had undertaken to show respect for the independence, sovereignty and existing borders of Ukraine.
