Yanukovych cancels increase of judges' salary from January 1, 2014
Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has signed law No. 716-VII amending the law of Ukraine on judiciary and status of judges, which from January 1, 2014 cancels an increase of salaries of judges, the press service of the head of state reported on Friday.
The Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's parliament, passed the law on December 19. The document cancels the increase of judges' salaries from January 1, 2014 in order to save UAH 600 million.
In particular, the law removes from the law of Ukraine on judiciary and status of judges a provision on an increase of judges' wages from 10 to 12 minimal wages.
