Tymoshenko refuses to stop hunger strike despite pleas – Kozhemiakin

Former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko has refused to stop her hunger strike despite attempts to persuade her to do so, the ex-premier's defense counsel, Andriy Kozhemiakin, has said.

"We tried to persuade her. But she said no," Kozhemiakin told an Interfax-Ukraine reporter outside Central Clinical Hospital No. 5 in Kharkiv following a meeting with Tymoshenko on Wednesday.

He added that Tymoshenko said she would go hungry at least until November 29 [the end of the summit in Vilnius] and after that decide if she should continue the hunger strike.
