Polish visa centers to open in Luhansk and Zaporizhia
Polish visa centers will open in Luhansk and Zaporizhia in 2013, Consul General of Poland in Kharkiv Jan Granat has reported.
"From August 1 the visa center is to start its work in Luhansk. [The visa center] in Zaporizhia will open by the end of this year," Granat said at the press conference devoted to the opening of Kharkiv-Warsaw flight by Wizz Airlines.
He expressed his certitude that a new trip will stir up Polish-Ukrainian liaisons.
Granat also stressed that a number of visas granted in 2013 grew by 33% year-over-year and will total 50,000 by the end of the year.
"In 2010, when I started to work here, we granted about 17,000 visas. This year it'll be 50,000. But the number of the trips could be higher, because many of our clients receive long-term multiple visas," the consul said.
According to him, the growth of the granted visas was caused by the opening of three big visa centers on the eastern Ukraine (in Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk and Kharkiv), relaxation of the visa regime, as well as the introduction of free national Polish visas for Ukrainians.
Granat stressed that about 20% of issued visas are long-term. Ukrainians go to Poland to work, study and to spend holidays.
