Ukraine as of July 8 harvests almost 10.5 m tonnes of grain
Ukraine as of July 8 had harvested early grains and leguminous crops from 3.97 million hectares, threshing almost 10.5 million tonnes of grain, according to the Ministry of Agricultural Policy and Food.
According to the report, the average grain yield in the country totaled 26.4 centners per ha against 19.6 centners per ha on the same date last year.
In particular, farmers harvested 2.47 million tonnes of winter barley from 930,000 hectares with the yield being 26.6 centners per ha, 7.38 million tonnes of winter wheat from 2.6 million hectares with the yield being 28.1 centners per ha, and 459,000 tonnes of spring barley from 313,000 hectares with the yield being 14.7 centners per ha.
In addition, farmers harvested 722,000 tonnes of winter rapeseeds from 381,000 hectares (the yield is 19 centners per ha).
Odesa, Mykolaiv, Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhia regions harvested more than one million tonnes of grain.
The highest grain yield is in Cherkasy region (42.7 centners per ha), Kyiv and Poltava regions - 40.8 centners per ha, the lowest one - in Crimes (13.4 centners per ha) and Kherson region (17.3 centners per ha).
