Flow of tourists to Crimea grows by almost quarter
The flow of tourists in Crimea from April 30 to May 6, 2013 grew by 24% compared to the same period last year, the information policy department of the Crimean Council of Ministers has quoted Crimean Resorts and Tourism Minister Oleksandr Liyev as saying on Tuesday.
He said that as usual, the largest number of tourists during the May Day celebrations visited Yalta, Alushta and Yevpatoriya. At the same time, high growth in tourist traffic was recorded in the Feodosiya district and in the town of Saky. The increase in tourist flow in Crimea ranged from 15% to 30%.
About 350,000 tourists have visited Crimea since the beginning of the year, which was 19% more than in the same period last year, Liyev said.
In addition, he said that in the summer season Crimea would receive 3,500 children from the Republic of Komi (Russia) for rest and recovery.
