Prison service still unaware whether Tymoshenko planning to participate in UESU case trial
Former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko on Monday, March 4, confirmed in written form her intention to attend a court hearing of the criminal case on the activities of the United Energy Systems of Ukraine (UESU) Corporation, but on Tuesday morning she refused to sign any documents, including the document on her consent to or refusal from the transportation to the courtroom.
"Yesterday, Tymoshenko wrote a statement saying, in particular, that she intends to participate in the court hearing today. In connection wit this, the administration of the penal colony drew up and submitted relevant documents in order to organize the convict's transportation to Kyivsky District Court of Kharkiv," the press service of the State Penitentiary Service of Ukraine said.
According to the prison service, on Tuesday in the morning all necessary cars and security guards came to the territory of Central Clinical Hospital No. 5, where the ex-premier is undergoing treatment.
Head of the Kachanivska Penal Colony Ihor Kolpaschykov told Tymoshenko that the vehicles and the prison service were ready to transport her to the courtroom.
"However, convict Tymoshenko turned to the wall and refused to sign any documents, including the document on her consent to or refusal from the transportation to the courtroom," the prison service said.
As reported, the court has announced a break until 1430 on March 5 in the hearing of the criminal case on the activities of the United Energy Systems of Ukraine Corporation due to the absence of former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko.
