The room at the clinic in which former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko used to meet with her defense lawyers will be used for investigatory actions, while another room has been equipped for Tymoshenko's meetings with her defense team members, Chief of the Kachanivska Penal Colony Ihor Kolpaschykov has said.

"Following the incident when three people's deputies refused to leave the room after a short-term meeting, we have equipped a room in accordance with Article 49 [of the internal regulations] for short-term meetings and meetings with defense lawyers," he told journalists outside the clinic.

The head of the colony said that the new room is situated between the staffroom and the intensive care unit.

He also rejected a claims by Tymoshenko's defense lawyer, Serhiy Vlasenko, that he could hear people speaking at the intensive care unit.

Kolpaschykov also said that Tymoshenko refuses to go to the new meeting room, which, according to him, is located at a distance of three meters from her ward.

"The defense lawyers were in this room and they had an opportunity to ask Yulia Volodymyrivna to come to that room and hold a meeting there. Today and yesterday she did not come to the room," Kolpaschykov said.

He said the penitentiary service does not prevent Tymoshenko from meetings with her defense lawyers and even asked her to hold the meetings "she needed so badly."
