Tymoshenko spent last night in bathroom, says penitentiary service
Former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko, who is undergoing treatment at Kharkiv-based Central Clinical Hospital No. 5, spent last night in the bathroom, Deputy Head of the State Penitentiary Service's department in Kharkiv region Andriy Lapinsky has said.
"She was in the hall and then she went to the bathroom and spent the night there. A couch was brought to the bathroom and a warm blanket was given to her," he said at a press briefing on Wednesday.
Lapinsky said he did not know in what position – sitting or lying – Tymoshenko spent the night. He added that the ex-premier sat on her walking frame when she was in the hall.
He also did not answer where Tymoshenko was at the moment of the briefing.
On January 8, Yulia Tymoshenko declared a campaign of civil disobedience and announced this in an open letter that was read aloud by her defense lawyer Serhiy Vlasenko.
