Tymoshenko says penitentiary service gave her document on discharge from hospital

Former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko has stated that the State Penitentiary service of Ukraine has given her a document on the completion of her treatment and discharge from hospital.

"Now, in the minutes when I am writing my statement, they are building a new cage to break me and my will, [they are installing] additional bars, taking away from me necessary things, they locked up the rest-room, and they tripled the number of my guards. The penitentiary service gave me a paper on the completion of my treatment and discharge from the hospital as more revenge for my position," reads the ex-premier's statement that was read aloud by her layer Oleksandr Plakhotniuk outside the hospital in Kharkiv and posted on the Web site of the Batkivschyna Party.

According to the statement, Tymoshenko staged a protest on September 28.

"As a sign of protest I did not return to the prison ward and for two days, including two nights, I stayed on the floor nears the door, to which they illegally refused to admit my colleagues, I demanded that the law be observed and they be admitted," the ex-premier wrote.

She added that her protest was not aimed at fighting for her own rights and she just wanted to draw attention to the fact that there are no laws in "the country of [Ukrainian President Viktor] Yanukovych" for all 46 million of people.

"Only the law of the jungle has effect [in the country]. Law enforcement agencies, the parliament, courts, officials weak in spirit don't follow laws any more, [they obey] the orders of their head of state," Tymoshenko said.

"What is even more important, the country is suffering in chaos without laws and restrictions. Countries don't survive such conditions. No one wants to deal with such countries. That's what I'm protesting. Every wise and responsible person should fight against such a mutation of public life. If we don't have enough spirit for this, the executioner will persecute everyone," Tymoshenko said.
