Zelenskyy, OAS Secretary General discuss maintaining unity of world community for sake of peace
As part of a working trip to the United States, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Secretary General of the Organization of American States Luis Almagro.
"During a meeting with Secretary General of the Organization of American States Luis Almagro on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, we discussed in detail how to maintain the unity of the world community for the sake of peace and the effectiveness of global efforts," Zelenskyy wrote on his Telegram channel on Monday.
During the meeting, the president thanked his interlocutor for participating in the first Peace Summit and for helping to organize the accession of some partners. Zelenskyy said that more than 100 representatives of different countries joined the communiqué following the Summit.
In turn, Almagro noted that he highly appreciates the appeals that the Ukrainian side sent to the UN General Assembly, and that the organization is open to more countries joining the communiqué.
